Brief Tai Chi history
The practice of Tai Chi began over 3000 years ago (1100-1221 BC). The Chinese founders of Yang, Sun, Wu, and Chen styles, among many others, created forms as sets of slow dance moves in a number sequence of 8, 12, 24, 36, 108 and so on. The purpose of Tai Chi Chuan was to improve strength, vitality, and speed during martial arts combats which trickled down from one generation to another.
T'ai Chi is a traditional Chinese exercises that involve sequential mindful relaxed movements to benefit many health issues for people of all ages.
Starting the practice of Tai Chi Qigong while in good health is a very beneficial exercise because it's known to be equivalent to moderate aerobics exercise due to movements of the bones, toning the muscles and slowing the aging process.
